Data protection

Privacy policy

This is a courtesy translation. The binding version is the Spanish one, Política de privacidad, which prevails in the event of any discrepancy.

1. Data controller

  • Controller: Manuel Cantos García
  • Tax ID (NIF): 78976547K
  • Address: Urbanización Las Flores 27, 29603 Marbella (Málaga), Spain
  • Email: mcantos@itlabsmarbella.com
  • Trading name: IT Labs Marbella

2. What data is collected and why

The contact form collects: full name, company, email address, phone number, approximate headcount and the text written in the message. The date and the IP address from which the form is sent are also recorded, as evidence of consent and to prevent automated submissions.

Purpose: to respond to the request for information and, where applicable, to prepare and send a proposal of services. No marketing communications or newsletters are sent to anyone who has not expressly asked for them.

3. Legal basis

The consent of the data subject, given by ticking the box on the form (Article 6.1.a GDPR), and the pre-contractual measures requested by them (Article 6.1.b) where the enquiry is a request for a quotation.

4. Retention period

For as long as the relationship arising from the enquiry lasts and, afterwards, for the period needed to address any legal liabilities. If no relationship arises from the enquiry, the data is deleted within a maximum of one year.

5. Recipients

No data is shared with third parties and no international transfers take place. Email and web hosting are provided by IONOS (1&1 IONOS España S.L.U.), with servers in the European Union, acting as data processor.

6. Your rights

You may request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, the restriction of or objection to processing, and data portability, by writing to mcantos@itlabsmarbella.com stating which right you wish to exercise. You may also withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

If you believe your data has not been handled correctly, you may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).

7. Cookies and third-party services

This website uses no cookies, neither its own nor third-party ones, and no analytics or advertising tools. It also loads no fonts, icons or resources from external servers: everything is served from this same domain, so browsing it does not expose your IP address to any third party. The anti-spam check on the contact form also runs entirely on this domain. If analytics are added in future, this policy will be updated and prior consent will be requested.

8. Security

The site is served encrypted over HTTPS and the data received is handled with appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent unauthorised access.

9. Mobile apps

In addition to this website, the owner develops his own mobile apps. This section is the privacy policy for each of them, and is the one linked from their app store listing. Sections 1 to 8 refer only to this website and its contact form.

Sabor de Casa

  • What it is: a personal recipe notebook, with photographs and a journal of each time a recipe is cooked
  • Platform: Android (phone and tablet) · package com.sabordecasa.app
  • Status: in development; not yet available on Google Play
  • Developer: Manuel Cantos García (IT Labs Marbella) · mcantos@itlabsmarbella.com

The app does not send your data to the developer. You do not need to create an account or sign in to use it, and it contains no advertising, analytics, automatic crash reporting or tracking of any kind. Your recipes, notes, journal and photographs are stored only in your device's internal storage, and the app works offline. The developer has no server that receives this data: he cannot see it or recover it.

Photographs. You choose them, with the camera or the system photo picker. When saving them, the app removes their EXIF metadata, including GPS location, which could reveal where you live.

Google Drive backup (optional). If you connect your Google account, the app saves a copy of your recipe book (the database and the photos) in a hidden, private folder of your own Google Drive, reserved for the app. The permission it requests (drive.appdata) only grants access to that folder: the app cannot see your documents, photos or emails. The backup goes straight from your device to Google, without passing through any server of the developer. When you connect, Google provides the app with the account's name, email address and picture, which are used only to show you which account is being backed up to and never leave the device. That storage is provided by Google under its own terms and its privacy policy, and Google may process the data outside the European Union. The backup is encrypted in transit and Google encrypts it at rest, but it is not end-to-end encrypted; turning on 2-Step Verification for your Google account is the best protection. You can disconnect the account at any time from the app («Desconectar Google») or at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Permissions. Camera, to photograph your dishes and only while you use it; notifications, for the cooking timers; saving images to the gallery, when you choose to save a recipe card; and internet, only for the Google Drive backup. The app does not request location, microphone, contacts or read access to your gallery, and it opts out of Android's automatic backup, so your data does not leave the device by a route you have not chosen.

Sharing. When you tap «Compartir» (Share), the app prepares an image of the recipe and hands it to the app you choose (for example, Instagram or WhatsApp). What happens from then on is governed by that app's policy.

Error log. The app keeps a technical error log on the device, without the content of your recipes. It only leaves the device if you decide to send it yourself, from Settings; in that case the developer treats it as an enquiry (sections 1 to 6), solely to fix the fault and for as long as that takes.

How to delete your data. Uninstalling the app deletes everything stored on the device. The Google Drive backup is deleted at drive.google.com → Settings → Manage apps → Sabor de Casa → Options → «Delete hidden app data».

Changes. If a future version adds user accounts, cloud sync, subscriptions or other services, this section will be updated before that version is released, stating what data is processed, who the controller is and on what legal basis.
